Women in Tourism Entrepreneurship
Know-How, Challenges and Opportunities
Yogyakarta, 23 - 25 February 2024
Women in Tourism Indonesia with US Embassy and YSEALI helped women-owned and women-empowered small business owners to reset their entrepreneurial learning to scale their business. We learned their challenges closely and had 1:1 mentorship with each of them to navigate changes in post-pandemic to polish their ways of working.
We treat these travel and tourism small businesses as its own unique entity, we discussed about their motivation as entrepreneurs, pricing strategy, marketing strategy, sales distribution, and ended the coaching with pitching strategies showcasing their values and impact for future investments. When it comes to their future journey, we don’t ask and lead them in strategies, we co-create.
Women in Tourism Indonesia with RISE Foundation and Perempuan Punya Karya held creative economic empowerment forum supported by Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel Yogyakarta. During this forum, we invited centaurs in the businesses to discuss their policies, contribution, and challenges faced by women to make sustainable impact on the business. We're not only celebrating the community partners and voices of women but also recognizing the smart investment through inclusivity it represents. We believe that investing in women is not only a moral imperative but a strategic necessity; it is the smartest investment for societal and the economic growth. Therefore, during 2024 International Women's Day, we want to accelerate the process by providing women with equal opportunities, education, and access to unlock innovation and build more resilient and prosperous future. Together, we make strategic investment in women, knowing that it's not only an investment in individuals but a catalyst for the advancement of communities and the world at large.
